Learn more about the philosophy, ethics, principles and techniques of yoga adjustments and assists. This weekend workshop is for Yoga Teachers wanting to broaden their teaching with hands on assists, adjustments, biomechanics, breath and much more! Learn more about the psychology of touch in working with students. Using hands on assists and adjustment is an area that can confuse many teachers but it doesn't need to be that way!
Teachers will learn how to blend verbal cueing, physical demonstration, energetic presence and hand on assists/adjustments in a powerful way to guide students into a greater awareness of their body and mind.
During this workshops teachers will learn:
*How to clarify verbal and demonstrated alignment cues
*Yoga ethics and psychology of human behavior
*Developing a code of conduct as a professional yoga teacher
*Learn to teaching with the breath as the barometer to more into assists and adjustments when guiding students
*How to "get out of your own way" and overthinking in teaching yoga
*Learn safe biomechanics when assisting and adjustments
*Teaching and allowing for embodiment and play in energetic action in asana
*How to offer students a feeling of support, variation and understanding
*How to bring awareness to an unconscious part of the body
*Assist is stabilizing, easing and deepening asana
*Assist is safely increasing range of motion
*Creating a more trusting and open connection between student and teacher
*Learn techniques in assisting forward extensions, back extension, twisting, inversions and more
*Developing an "eye" for bodies and energy while teaching
*Feeling more comfortable offering touch and physical guidance while teaching

Kristin McGee is a nationally recognized celebrity yoga and Pilates teacher, speaker, mompreneur, and author of Chair Yoga: Sit, Stretch, and Strengthen Your Way to a Happier, Healthier You (HarperCollins January 17, 2017). Considered a pioneer in the yoga movement, Kristin began her career as yoga teacher in the nineties after graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Cost: $333. Yoga Teacher receive 14 continuing education credits from Yoga Alliance.
Cost of training can be applied to any 200 or 300 Hour training at True North Yoga.
