About this Event

Thanks to funding through the Community Initiative Fund with lululemon, I'm able to make this vision come to life as free event for our community. Registatrion is required and only those who have "tickets" will be able to attend. Ticketiing will close 48 hours before the event time. Vendor sign ups will be sent out 48 hours ahead of the event.

What you can expect:

An opening community care practice circle. A longer yoga flow and meditation practice bringing together vinyasa and kemetic yoga to honor each of yoga's roots in India and Northern Africa. Each attendee receives a free lululemon yoga mat (and more), Trinidadian food, local gift cards and a healing service from one of our vendors. Healing services include intuitive tarot readings, waist beads and intuitive guidance based on your beads, aura photography and reading, tatu drawing + intutive reading, tarot readings or henna (mehdni). There will be time and tools for community building after the yoga while guests visit with the vendors, enjoy food, and live music. New empathy grown earrings will be available for sale.

With love and reminder: Plan to sign up for your healing vendor ahead of the event when Soraya shares the sign up 48 hours in advance. When you arrive you will be supported with a card with your vendor info once you've signed up prior to arrival. Please note that not everyone will be able to see each vendor however you are welcome to connect with them for space held after the event and some vendors will have their products at the event as well. Please show up mindful of time and honoring the flow of it as we work together to balance our vendor's energy and capacity with your interest in their service.

Soraya will not be availble to answer questions the morning of the event as she'll be holding this sacred space and coordinating the event as a whole, for questions before the event you can contact [email protected] until 24 hours before the event.

Ticketing note:

One of the intentions of this event is bringing together Kemetic (African) and Vinyasa (Indian) yoga, honoring collective liberation through these lineages and cultures in one practice and space where there is a history of separation and lost knowledge. This iteration of an ongoing space Soraya's been cultivating this year aligns with the week of Juneteenth and is in part inspired as a reparations clinics providing access to healing resources, reclaiming practices and time for Black peoples.

Thus while the event is intentionally open everyone for the embodiment of these practices as part of our collective healing - to ensure equitable and as intended access to the space for there will be more spots to this event open to Black community members first on June 4th then Black, indigenous, people of color community members on June 6th followed by it opening to everyone (BIPOC and non-BIPOC) for tickets on June 8th. Please acknowledge ticket selection timing with this in mind.
