This will be an opportunity to foster and explore a deeper understanding of the 'self'. Enhancing an awareness of your inner world and developing a deeper connection between body, mind and soul.
Along with daily asana practice (yoga movement) this retreat will have a strong meditation and breathwork focus. We will be working with the subtle layers of the Kosha's, revealing the energy of our inner selves.
The 5 Kosha’s or sheaths represent our physical, energetic, emotional, mental and causal bodies, each of these bodies are interconnected and so when we move our physical body it has a flow on effect to the mental and casual bodies.
Most of us understand and have potentially experienced or witnessed the effects of a physical injury having an imprint on the emotional and mental bodies. This is also true in reverse that when we feel great in our bodies, we feel clear and abundant in our minds. However, when our minds are busy or fatigued our physical body can feel painful or heavy.
The sheath or layers of the koshas are subtle in their energy and vibration, it’s my intention on this retreat to offer the tools, practices, time and space in which may help you to better understand patterns of behaviour and mindset.
Developing this awareness of ‘self’ can help us to better understand our place in the world.
We will begin each day with movement. Opening the pathways for prana to flow, rolling through the joints, shaking out stagnant energy moving the physical body through asana to arrive gently in a place for deep reflection and mediation practices.
During the day I will offer pranayama and meditation sessions to dive deeper into the layers of sensation.
We will have the opportunity to discuss What the Sheaths of the body are, why understanding them is important and how we can use them to develop the ego ‘self’.
We will also have plenty of free time to build new relationships, making friends and exploring the lushes surrounding bushland. You’re welcome to go for walks or spend time by the fire.
Our retreat will be supported by the delicious and nourishing meals which will be lovingly prepared by Helen from Health Food Evolution.
