Presented free for the public, YMCO Generations Festival is a celebration of Berkeley non-profit organization Young Musicians Choral Orchestra (formerly known as Young Musicians Program) and its longstanding service to the community.
This program will feature several student and alumni ensembles, jazz big band, and instrumental and vocal soloists, directed by YMCO Executive Director Geechi Taylor, with special guest appearances from stalwarts of the musical community, faculty, and friends of YMCO. Closing out the evening will be a set from renowned Berkeley vocalist The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol & Her All-Star Sextet featuring Steve Turre (trombone), Teodross Avery (tenor saxophone), Geechi Taylor (trumpet), Joe Warner (piano), Tarus Mateen (bass) and Tony Austin (drums). This program is supported by City of Berkeley and California Arts Council.
The mission of YMCO is to use high quality, intensive musical training, academic support, and personal guidance to improve the lives of talented, low-income students, ages 9-18, from throughout the Bay Area. By advancing their academic, musical, and personal accomplishments throughout their middle-school and high-school years. YMCO enhances students' competitive appeal and success at four-year universities and conservatories. All of YMCO's services are provided at no cost.

Health and Safety at the Freight & Salvage
Updated COVID Policy Statement Effective January 1, 2023:
Masks are no longer required but strongly encouraged to be worn at Freight & Salvage.
Masks will be provided to patrons who request them.
Effective January 4, 2023, proof of vaccination is no longer required.
Food & Drink are allowed inside the Listening Room and can also be enjoyed in the lobby.
Please follow all posted guidelines and on site signage, as well as any verbal instructions from event staff.
Please Note: Specific events will have artist requested masking requirements. Please check event listings for requirements.
Policies are subject to change as necessary and as determined by the CDC and local health department officials. Changes will be reflected on our website, in our newsletter and communicated directly to affected ticket-holders via email.
