Yiddish House Concert - Oakland

Join Cindy Paley’s Klezmer Quartet for a rich and rousing evening of Yiddish Favorites. These seasonal concerts have been too much fun, and we're back with new songs!
Come ready to learn and sing along to the vibrant and colorful songbook of Eastern European Jewry’s unique cultural history. The popular Yiddish folk songs of Itzik Manger and Mordechai Gebirtig, among others, are sure to stir your nostalgia. Newer melodies by Michael Alpert, Leonard Cohen, Chava Alberstein and Arkady Gendler will remind you that Yiddish is timeless, thriving and meaningful. Guitarist/vocalist Cindy Paley will be joined by accordionist Dan Cantrell, clarinetist Asaf Ophir, and violinist Nathan Ladyzhensky. Song sheets in transliteration with English translations will be provided.
