Dust off you paddleboard, canoe, kayak or walking boots and join us for a NEW YEAR PADDLE or TOW PATH WALK on the Nottingham & Beeston canal.
We're a friendly bunch and we will paddle at a gentle pace.
Walkers are welcome - you're likely to be walking faster than the paddlers!

TIME - 11am to inflate and get sorted, be ready to set off by 11.30am.
MEET - on Iremonger Road by the bend - it's at the back of Notts County football ground.

WALK - If you haven't got something to paddle on or in, then come along for a walk along the tow path.
PARKING – on street near the corner - there are a few free bays on Iremonger Road and from there it is close the launch, down a few steps.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT – Likely not working on NY day, apologies.
PADDLING - we'll head north against the flow towards Nottingham city centre, then west at Binks Yard. The plan is to paddle for about an hour in one direction and then paddle back.
We will be paddling at a steady rate and the route is suitable for beginners.
One way is usually easier than the other due to flow, but the wind can be tricky in places in either direction.
Hopefully we will see the resident Kingfisher...
BRING - SUP, kayak or canoe
PFD - you need to wear a personal flotation device for your safety (and everyone’s on the paddle)!
LEASH - all paddleboarders MUST have a quick release waist or ankle leash.
SELF RESCUE - you need to be experienced in getting back on / in your craft - please don't put others in our group at risk!
WEAR - weather-appropriate warm & waterproof clothing.
BRING - drink, snack, towel, full change of clothes and spare footwear.

AFTERWARDS – join us for a drink / food at a nearby pub.

Please note that there will be NO TRAINED PADDLE INSTRUCTORS in our group.
This is a peer paddle and you are responsible for your own safety. Everyone will be supportive, helpful and we will look out for each other but YOU ARE PADDLING AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Noone will be left behind.
