YENSA Festival Pass - August 26-28
The Yensa Festival Pass provides full access for TWO electrifying nights of dance in TWO unique programs, each featuring three different solo artists and companies from the UK, Montréal and Toronto, followed by our ATSIA Circle - a live dance and drum celebration with guest artists and dancing for everyone.
- Friday August 26 YENSA dance program ONE features:
- Jaz Fairy J Simone "Open Light" (Toronto)
- Artists in Motion (AIM) "Our Stories" extract of ‘Ashes’ (Toronto)
- Lua Shayenne Dance Company (LSDC) "Kira the Path / La Voie" excerpt (Toronto)
- Saturday August 27 YENSA dance program TWO features:
- Funmi Adewole Elliott "The Blind Side" (UK)
- Esie Mensah "A Seat at the Table" (Toronto)
- Ekspresyon "Contraste" (Montreal)
Program Length: approx. 80 Minutes for each Evening Performance
- Sunday August 28 YENSA Festival's ATSIA Circle will feature guest artists Ranzie Mensah (Ghana/Italy), Fara Tolno (Guinea/US), King Chino, Cécé Haba, N'deré Headley-Lindsay, Collette 'Miss Coco' Murray and many more; followed by a live dance and drum celebration. In the Ewe language (Ghana), atsia means "style" or "to display".
- Wear comfortable clothing to dance in
- Percussionists are welcome ( bring your own djembe)
As part of the festival, you will also have access to a curated PHOTO EXHIBIT in the ARTSCAPE LOUNGE.
