Mark your calendars, Snake Lovers! Wednesday, January 29, is the first day of the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Snake! My Nature Lab appreciates every opportunity to celebrate snakes, and we are partying all year long, beginning with special Chinese New Year hours on Wednesday, January 29 from 1 pm to 8 pm. We will celebrate with a story time on the tradition, symbolism, and meaning behind the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake, hands-on snake lessons, and the unveiling of our newest snake, the Yunnan Mountain Bamboo Ratsnake from the tropical mountains of South China!Admission is free for members and $15/non-member. Your entry includes a wooden snake, a snake tattoo, a Year of the Snake sticker, and $5/off a Year of the Snake shirt. Both the sticker and the shirt feature the Yunnan Mountain Bamboo Ratsnake.
2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake and is said to be a time for planning, transformation, and growth. The timing could not be better as we plan to raise the funds to purchase our building so we can grow our hands-on educational programs and transform our building into a state-of-the-art facility for reptile and amphibian conservation and research. All funds raised on January 29 will go towards our downpayment.
