About this Event
Celebrate the Year of the Snake with a menu designed to bring luck and prosperity in 2025. Join food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley as she guides you through techniques for making traditional recipes that hold special significance during Chinese New Year celebrations, each symbolizing good fortune.
The class begins with handmade pork and vegetable-filled dumplings, representing prosperity and wealth. Next, fire up the fancy wok stations to stir-fry long noodles with chicken and bok choy in a gingery sauce, symbolizing longevity in life. Our third dish, Jai — also known as Buddha’s Delight — is a rice and vegetable dish stir-fried in a rich, aromatic mushroom-based sauce, believed to bring good health. Finally, the class ends with delightful almond cookies, round like coins, symbolizing wealth and good luck.
A glass of wine is included as you enjoy your meal at the end of class.
