Help your Year 10 students take their first steps towards a future in STEM at Life Science Centre.
On Friday 6 November 2026, we're welcoming Year 10 students to our award-winning science centre for a dedicated Careers Day, giving them the chance to meet STEM professionals from across the North East, hear about their career journeys and take part in hands-on activities linked to real jobs in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Throughout the day, students will work alongside professionals from both academia and industry, finding out what they do, how they got there and what skills are needed in today's STEM careers. They'll also have the opportunity to ask questions, take part in practical challenges and make meaningful connections with people working in the sector.
Alongside the careers programme, students will have time to explore Life Science Centre's interactive exhibits and enjoy a special Planetarium session with Life Animator Tommy Howell, who will share how our award-winning Planetarium shows are created.
The event runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm and is suitable for Year 10 groups of up to 36 students. Group bookings are £195, with teachers attending free at a ratio of one teacher for every five students.
If you're looking for an engaging way to introduce your students to the wide range of STEM careers available here in the North East, we'd love to welcome your school to Life this November.
We're also running a dedicated Careers Day for Year 12 students on Friday 5 February 2027, offering a similar opportunity tailored to students preparing for their next steps in education and employment.
