About Yashodhara

Yashodara an unsung heroine is a story of a young princess who decided to marry Siddhartha a prince who is predicted to be a wandering monk. She marries him and starts transforming herself according to his vision of life. She gives up the life of a princess and leads a life of a monk raises their son Rahula into a fine prince all alone! Siddhartha attains enlightenment under the bodhi vruksha and comes back to yashodara who taught him love is the ultimate dharma and takes her along as a Buddha bikkuni


About Tharang Arts and Culture Trust

Tharang Arts and Culture trust was registered in 2018 with aim of working towards promoting Indian classical arts. 

Objectives

  • To conduct or sponsor performances of dance drama and other fine arts and also exhibitions symposiums etc. in the field arts.
  • To provide facilities to students and artistes to promote awareness and facilitate attainment of expertise in dance related activities.
  • To provide at low cost/free facilities to the weaker section to learn any form of fine arts.
  • Arrange music and dance workshops by eminent artists 
  • Organising classical dance and music festivals to give opportunity for upcoming artists to perform
  • To give scholarships award stipend honorarium to such individuals who have devoted themselves and render their valuable service in cultural educational social and various other public causes. Financial aid to terminally ill Classical artists


Project Yashodhara

Project Yashodhara has been conceived scripted and choreographed by Smt.Aparna Vinod Menon (Founder Director Tharang Academy Of Arts Bangalore) as part of 15th year celebration of inception of Tharang Academy of Arts. This project is planned with more than 40 dancers and will be performed on 13th January 2024 at Chowdiah Hall. Aparna is disciple of Late. Guru B.Bhanumathi and Smt. Sheela Chandrashekhar. She is a Doordarshan 'A' graded artist and empanelled in Festival Of India Cell(Abroad)


Goals

  • Ticket proceeds will be utilised to lay foundation for building corpus for Tharang Arts & Culture Trust to enable it to achieve its objectives
