ABOUT YARNIN PANGARI (TALKING SPIRIT) FESTIVAL
Join world renowned performer and cultural ambassador Ngarrindjeri / Kaurna Elder, Major "Moogy" Sumner, for a festival of sharing culture and healing the spirit in the gorgeous natural surrounds of Belair National Park (main oval and pavillion).
Following a welcome smoking ceremony, participate in interactive cultural workshops (dancing, weaving, painting, wood carving, boomerang and spear throwing); sit back and listen to storytelling and truth telling in the yarnin circles with Elders.
Enjoy wondering around the community and First Nations artists market place.
*** BRING a chair/blanket, food/ snacks etc. you must take your own rubbish away with you. (Food will be available for purchase on the day)
***This is a family friendly - alcohol free event***

TRANSPORT TO YARNIN PANGARI
We encourage people to consider taking public transport to the festival
The Belair Train runs regularly across the day (approx. every 30 mins)
– In order to arrive in time for the welcome smoking ceremony - we encourage people to catch the 11:21am and 11:46am trains leaving from the Adelaide railway station.
• (Once you get to the Belair Train Station) - It is then a short 1.5km walk from the station through the beautiful Belair National Park to the festival site at the Main Oval – (follow the Yurrebilla trail signs).
• Departure train times back to the city from Belair Railway station are 6:44pm, 7:13pm and 7:44pm

CAR PARKING is available via the Belair National Park Holiday Park entrance (not via the national park main entrance) – signage and traffic marshals will help direct people.

ACCESSIBILITY PARKING
We have reserved parking spots around the main oval for disability and access parking for Elders and people who need it – If you require accessibility parking --- please email [email protected] – (40 spaces are available)


WEATHER
** In the event that on the day it is a catastrophic fire danger day -- the event will be postponed ** Dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

STALL HOLDERS --- If you would like to hold a stall as part of the market place at Yarnin Pangari - email [email protected] for a registration form.

** First Nations tickets are Free --The Adelaide Fringe Community Fund will be purchasing tickets for First Nations community. If you are unable to buy a ticket, please email: [email protected] to request tickets, advising how many tickets you require. The Adelaide Fringe Community Fund allocation of available tickets is limited.
