Hood Futures Studio has partnered with Decolonising the Archive (DTA)to offer a 4 wk preparatory reparative archive course using contextual studies about an important aspect of Birmingham Black history and archiving. We will support the creating of access to reason and view the Rastafari movements in Birmingham (Birminstrong) as a framework for transporting identity and sustainable living structures.

Decolonising The Archive (DTA) has developed an entire course structure around Reparative Archiving and will be collaborating with Hood Futures Studio and the Community to facilitate phase 1.

This specific course has been developed to fill the gaps in our knowledge and documentation process around the dynamic history and perspectives surrounding the RASTAFARI MOVEMENT, so we may begin, or/and continue to tell our own stories, build legacies and protect our own knowledge system.

The course will allow a bilateral conversation around the tremendous history of the Pan African liberation movement and livity we have all come to know as RASTAFARI

You can find out more about the course and apply here, by 19th May. 2026
