About this Event
To celebrate the publication of SHADOW AND TIDE – the next book in the COMPASS AND BLADE trilogy – join YA authors Rachel Greenlaw (Compass and Blade; Shadow and Tide), Katherine Webber (Twin Crowns) and Alwyn Hamilton (Rebel Sands) in conversation with Rosie Talbot (Sixteen Souls) as they talk all things Romantasy!
Rachel Greenlaw lives on an island in the middle of the Atlantic, with all the allure of tropical palm trees in the summer and spine-tingling storms in the winter. Her debut women’s fiction novel, One Christmas Morning, is published in 2023. Shadow and Tide is the second in the Compass and Blade trilogy.@rachelgreenlaw
Katherine Webber is the author of the bestselling Twin Crowns series, co-written with fellow YA author superstar Catherine Doyle. Katherine has been shortlisted for the YA Book Prize for Twin Crowns and was a judge for the BBC Young Writers’ Award in 2024. Captain of Fates, a spin-off novel set in the world of Twin Crowns publishes in April 2025.
Alwyn Hamilton was born in Toronto and spent her childhood bouncing between Europe and Canada until her parents settled in France. She grew up in a small town there, before leaving for Cambridge University to study History of Art at King’s College, and then to London where she became indentured to an auction house. Her New York Times-bestselling debut, the YA fantasy Rebel of the Sands, was published by Viking in the US and Faber in the UK, and in 14 other territories. The trilogy continues in Traitor to the Throne and Hero at the Fall. Alwyn was named the 2016 Goodreads Choice Award winner for Best Debut Author. Her fourth book The Notorious Virtues releases in March 2025. You can find her @alwynhamilton on Instagram and Tiktok.
Rosie Talbot (she/her) is inspired by creepy things in junk shops, haunted houses and strange magic. By day she works as a bookseller and booktoker (@merrowchild). By night, she spends time sewing big skirts with huge pockets and wondering why her family has a suspiciously large collection of cauldrons. She currently resides in a mysterious pocket of the Sussex countryside with her very patient spouse and two cats called Tinkerfluff and Captain Haddock.
Unfortunately we do not have disabled access to our events area as there are no lifts in the building, but staff are available to help those with mobility issues.
