XR Creators Connect #4

Welcome to the fourth XR Creators Connect meetup, at which we bring together the XR community in The Netherlands!

In this edition we are exploring the world of XR on the web, diving into topics such as when to go for WebXR/WebAR and not, which technologies to consider, the challenges you can run into and how to deal with those, etc. While this edition may be a bit more tech-focused than the previous edition, we're aiming to keep it accessible and interesting to everyone!

It will feature the following speakers:

• Servin Nissen (Merlin Studio) will talk about building a webXR experience from A to Z. All the wins and all the headaches. He will cover the the entire process, starting with a case being presented, on to how to take it from idea to production. He will touch upon topics like: choosing the right technology, browser support, performance, asset management, dealing with crashes and other challenges.
• Timmy Kokke (Wonderland Engine) will be talking about the main different engines/frameworks for WebXR out there: Threejs/A-Frame, Babylonjs, PlayCanvas and Wonderland Engine, including a short demo on how to get a simple project up and running.
• Gianluca di Vincenzo (Orb Amsterdam) will dive into the tools and possibilities of 8thWall. He will discuss the benefits and challenges of WebAR, and demonstrate the key features of 8thWall through a few projects he has created in the past. The goal will be to give an understanding of what WebAR can achieve and how to get started with it.

We're also aiming to have some interesting XR hardware at the event to try out before and after the presentations.
