About this Event

Skiing Taster Session

Designed specifically for care experienced young people, this session offers the chance to get outdoors, try something new, build confidence, and have fun in the outdoors in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Funded by Cardiff Passport to the City and facilitated by The Outdoor Partnership, participants may have the opportunity to experience activities such as skiing, climbing, kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding over the summer programme.

No previous experience is required, and all specialist equipment is provided by qualified instructors. If you're feeling a little nervous, that's completely normal – you're welcome to bring a friend or supportive adult along with you.

The Outdoor Partnership have teamed up with Cardiff Ski and Snowboard to bring you this session of 'learn to ski', which is super fun! You will learn how to put your boots and skis on, then learn how to walk in skis, then the instructor will slowly teach you to progress onto doing the snowplough! This requires low-medium fitness, so please come and give it a go! It is lots of fun!

Venue facilities include:

  • FREE ACTIVITY - THERE IS NO COST TO THIS ACTIVITY
  • A responsible adult will be required to attend with under 18s
  • Please wear suitable clothing-thick socks, long sleeve top and trouser, bring gloves if you have some (to protect you from the dry ski slope). Warm top and waterproofs if weather requires.
  • Please bring water.
  • Free parking
  • Bring any required Medic*tion

Please note there is no permanent café onsite, so participants may wish to bring refreshments.

The Outdoor Partnership is committed to opening the doors to the outdoors, helping more people access, enjoy and benefit from outdoor activities within their local communities.

⚠️ Places are limited and funded. Please only book for young people and friend who will participate. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so the place can be offered to another young person.
