Wyrd War Presents: UNCLE SAM (1996) on the Fourth of July!

UPDATE (6/22): Due to circumstances beyond his control, William Lustig is no longer able to attend. If you attended Wyrd War's Summer Bummer Double Feature with Lustig in attendnace last year, you already know how highly anticipated this event was for him. He does not cancel frivolously. We are proceeding with the screening to honor the original concept. If anyone wishes to no longer attend, refunds are available through the Hollywood Theatre. However, we strongly encourage our audience to show up and march on for our exploitation film hero William Lustig.
This Fourth of July, instead of traumatizing small animals with explosives, Wyrd War invites you to celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial with a rare big screen presentation of William Lustig's outrageous holiday horror comedy UNCLE SAM (1996)!
After U.S. Sergeant Sam Harper is killed by “friendly fire” during the first Gulf War, his corpse is returned to his hometown on the week of Fourth of July where he is reanimated as a gruesome ghoul with a bloodlust for unpatriotic offenders. Starring an ensemble genre cast that includes William Smith (C.C. & COMPANY, MANIAC COP), Bo Hopkins (THE WILD BUNCH, THE GETAWAY), Robert Forster (VIGILANTE, ALLIGATOR), P.J. Soles (HALLOWEEN, CARRIE), and legendary singer-songwriter, composer and actor Isaac Hayes (TRUCK TURNER, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK), UNCLE SAM does for wartime patriotism what MANIAC COP did for urban law enforcement and remains uncannily timely 30 years after its release. No need to worry about missing the fireworks. The climax of this film features a pyrotechnic shot that blew the windows out of homes within a three block radius in the small town of La Verne, California and a firewalk that makes NYPD Officer Matt Cordell blush.
Once again, we deliver on another promise (threat?) that Dread made on stage last year when we had Lustig in town for our SUMMER BUMMER DOUBLE FEATURE. Join the Wyrd War Army!
