About this Event
Join us the second Saturday of every month in 2024 for FREE activities with artists from the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning. Separate sessions for children in grades K-2 and 3-5. Each class will be from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Join us every month or pick and choose the topics of interest for your child. Class sizes are limited and registration is required for each session.
August's classes focus on music. September's offerings feature animals and clay and dinosaurs and illustration. See descriptions for each below:
Saturday, August 10
12:30PM -1:30PM
K-2nd Grade: React, Listen, and Engage Through Music w/ In2ative
In2ative is an innovative duo based in Cleveland, Ohio that boldly defies traditional boundaries. Their unique sound specializes in the fusing of various styles, ranging from classical to rock, hip hop to electronic.
3rd – 5th Grade: Building the Band w/ Bob Frank
This hands-on workshop turns each class into its own “jug band.” Participants each get a part in the band playing kazoos, rubboards, rhythm sticks, wood blocks, shakers and other instruments and everyone sings!
Saturday, September 14
12:30PM -1:30PM
K-2: Clay Animal Sculptures w/ Mark Yasenchack
Students use their hands and common household utensils to create an animal from a lump of clay. As they create their own animals, they give them a personality and explore body form and function of other vertebrate animals within a species.
3rd – 5th Gr: Dinosaur Fables w/ Augusto
This storytelling and visual art workshop keeps participants laughing and learning from the beginning to end. Augusto tells a wonderful story about dinosaurs and illustrates them in real time as he tells it.
