My Emo/Screamo/Pop Punk friends, did it happen to you too? Did you open your go-to social media app only to see band after band from the glory days posting “We’re playing When We Were Young this year…” only to be reminded that it takes place over 3000kms away. Not to mention in another country. You’re not alone.
The elder emos at Crater Core Events & The Townehouse Tavern are here to help. We have teamed up with some of Sudbury’s finest (and oldest) scene musicians to bring part of the festival to the Nickel City. This October long weekend, what happens at WWWY Sudbury at the Townehouse stays at WWWY Sudbury at the Townehouse.
Get out your skinny jeans, studded belt, band tee, and favourite Vans (yeah, the ones with the hole in them) from the back of your closet. It’s time to prove it wasn’t just a phase. Three sets of live covers from a selection of bands on this year’s WWWY Line-up. You better start warming up those vocal cords now. You’ll need to be ready to sing along to some of the biggest bands from the golden age of emo/screamo/pop punk music. Bands like:

With a roster as big as the real When We Were Young, it wasn’t easy to pick a lineup. Didn’t hear your favourite band from this year’s lineup? We’ve got you. The WWWYS Sideshow DJ afterparty will run from the end of the live covers until close and will be playing all the angstiest anthems and blackest ballads from the 2000s.
