About this Event

Event Name/Title: WWE Southern Colorado – Cascade Creek East Fork Hike

Location: Cascade Creek near Cascade Village north of Durango

Dates/Times of Event: 10/7/22 8am




Due to local guidelines, and in accordance with the CDC, Women Who Explore will be limiting the number of attendees per event. In order to comply with these guidelines, each member attending the event will be required to register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend. Event Description of Activity: Hopefully in the prime of fall colors, this 11.7 mile out and back, moderately challenging hike takes us along Cascade Creek where we will get to enjoy at least 2 beautiful waterfalls.


** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified and are not guides. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**


Event Guidelines (for Covid): By registering for this event, participants agree to abide by the guidelines set forth by Women Who Explore which include:

• Practice self-awareness and do not attend if you have had any flu-like symptoms, exposed to or have tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days.

• Post-event; anyone who develops flu-like symptoms within 14 days after joining an event should contact the ambassador and Women Who Explore at [email protected].


Liability Waiver: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis.

Just past Cascade Village, the hwy has a sharp turn that creates a U. On the south side of the road is parking at the beginning of Lime Creek road. We will meet in this lot, near the highway and carpool to the upper parking lot.



What to bring:



REI 10 Essentials


* pack your full supply of water for the day

* pack snacks and light lunch

* dress appropriately; bring layers (dress warm and in layers, remember gloves and a hat)

* rain coat/top layer/sun hat/sunglasses/warm gloves/warm hat or tuque

* shoes with good traction (that can get dirty)

* bring a light backpack to put layers in as you shed them

* sunscreen/bug spray/headlamp/flashlight

* hand warmers & toe warmers (optional)

* camera/extra charging unit

If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
