WWE Portland - Back to the Woods: Post-Holiday Loop

If you’re spending the holiday weekend away from family—or simply craving a little breathing room—come join us for a refreshing Forest Park hike on the Wildwood Trail and Leif Erickson Drive Trail Loop. This 4.5-mile, 456-ft gain route is a gentle, beautiful escape into the woods and should take about 1.5–2 hours. It’s fall in the PNW, so expect damp trails and pack a rain jacket! Difficulty: easy to moderate.

FOR HIKING EVENTS:

Due to local guidelines, and in accordance with Leave No Trace Principles, Women Who Explore limits the number of attendees for hiking or outdoor events. To make sure we are following local guidelines, every attendee must register through Eventbrite. In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please release the ticket so that another member may attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Darshani Johnson or Noa Rubin directly!

No Trail Permits or Parking Pass needed, however due to limited parking, carpooling encouraged!

WHAT TO BRING:

• Pack your full supply of water for the day.

• Pack snacks & a light meal.

• Dress warm & in layers. Consider wearing a base layer & bringing an extra. • Warm gloves & hat

• Rain coat top layer

• Shoes with good traction

• A light backpack to put layers in as you shed them

• Handwarmers & toe warmers (optional)

• Headlamp or flashlight

• Personal hygiene kit

EVENT GUIDELINES FOR SICKNESS:

Please be mindful of other members attending the events. If you have developed cold or flu-like symptoms leading up to the event, please cancel your spot in Eventbrite and notify the ambassador hosting the event.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
