SO WHAT'S THE DEAL HERE?
"The U.S. Forest Service just opened a rushed 33-day comment period with ZERO public meetings on its plan to strip protections from OUR roadless areas, putting these lands at risk of mining, logging, and drilling.
The government just put 1.6 MILLION acres of New Mexico's wildest forests on the chopping block 🪓 and is trying to keep the public in the dark.
Once a road is built, the wild character of these forests is lost for generations. We've fought for decades to protect these places because our drinking water, wildlife, and way of life depend on it.
We're not going to let that be thrown away in a backroom deal. Take action NOW to keep New Mexico wild!" - NM Wild
