WWE Bend: Full Moon Backcountry Nordic Ski (Intermediate++)

THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE ++ EVENT = VERY COMFORTABLE ON UNGROOMED TRAILS AND CAN NORDIC SKI AT A COMFORTABLE, CONTINUOUS PACE

Event Details:

Join me - Julie P - your WWE Ambassador for this event - on a backcountry nordic ski under the full moon. We'll ski out to Swampy Shelter, have a nice snack/hot cocoa/tea break, sking through the open meadow for great full moon views and journey back on the Swampy Loop nordic trail. We will MEET at entrance to the trails (near the bathroom) at Swampy Lake SnoPark at 4:30. Likely out for ~ 2.5 hrs.

THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE ++ EVENT. This is for backcountry nordic skiers. Please come prepared with the proper equipment and skills. This is not on groomed trails. This is not appropriate for skate skiers. We will be out at NIGHT. It will be cold. Bring proper layers. You MUST have a headlamp/body lamp. Bring ample water and snacks. I'll bring treats, tea and hot cocoa to share - feel free to bring something to share also.

CARPOOL OPTION: Meet at 4:00PM at BIG WOOD SIGN on Cascade Lakes Highway (dirt parking area across from Athletic Center of Bend). YOU WILL NEED TO COMMUNICATE if you are meeting to carpool.

Women Who Explore events are led by volunteer ambassadors. We are not trained guides or wilderness certified. We come together for the simple enjoyment of sharing the outdoors together. Your personal safety and well being are your resposnibsility. Know your limits and come prepared!!!

Women Who Explore events are open to women ages 18 years or older. Sorry - no kids!

This is a NO dog event (Dogs are not allowed on these nordic trails systems in the winter.)
