FULL MOON SAGUARO LAKE PADDLE

TIME: 6:30-9:45pm

DESCRIPTION OF PADDLE: Join us for a full moon paddle on Canyon Lake!!! Meet on the beach at 6:30pm. We will be in the water by 7pm so we can start our paddle with a bit of sun still left. As the sun goes down and moon arises, we will continue to soak up that AZ summer night weather and paddle for 60-80 mins. Depending upon our location at the time, we will take a quick break for snacks on a nearby beach or take a few minutes floating on the water. Then, we will start making our journey back to the dock for a water departure of 9:30pm. LEVEL OF

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: Easy!!! All abilities welcome and encouraged!!!

LIABILITY WAIVER: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis. IN TOWN MEETING SPOT: There is no official "in town" meeting spot...depending upon your location, you may want to make new friends and carpool. If you are interested in carpooling, please leave a comment on the event page.

PARKING PASS: Every vehicle parked at Canyon Lake is required to have a Tonto Pass. You can purchase one at the lake entrance vending machine or from a variety of offsite gas stations and stores prior to your arrival. (Most QT and chevron gas stations, Bashas, etc). You do not need to purchase a watercraft sticker, since those are for motor powered watercraft only. WHAT TO BRING:

REQUIRED GEAR: THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY GEAR CHECK!!!!! ANYONE WITHOUT THE BELOW REQUIRED GEAR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PADDLE WITH THE GROUP

Kayak or SUP

Paddle

Personal Floatation Device (PFD)

Minimum of 2 glowsticks

Headlamp/additional lightsource

Minimum 1 liter of water

Personal hygiene items (TP, baby wipes, small bag to carry waste...LEAVE NO TRACE!!)

RECOMMENDED GEAR:

Chapstick

Snacks

Towel

Dry bag

Bug spray

RECOMMENDED RENTAL LOCATION:

Redline Rentals...they are onsite at Canyon Lake, so easy pickup/drop off!!! They will also stay open late for us!!!!

Redline Rental: https://evkayakrentals.com/rental-process/ Rental includes kayak/SUP, lifevest, straps/car rack if needed, and pump, fins, leash for SUP's. You can make reservations online, however you may need to call, as the website is a bit outdated and doesn't always list Canyon Lake as a rental option nor doesn't always show late pickup/drop off options. CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.

We will be meeting up on the shoreline between the Palo Verde Boat launch and the Acacia Rec Site. Tons of parking just west of our meetup location. If needed, there is a kiosk to purchase Tonto Passes onsite (see location marked on lower right on map).
