This month we will be discussing the essential role that active transportation plays in our transportation networks.
This month's speaker, Laura Gromis, is a dedicated sustainability leader and advocate. Laura is currenlty serving as the Chair of the Active Transporation Advisory Committee for the City of Fresno. With a career spanning over a decade in the San Joaquin Valley, Laura's work is focused on driving meaningful action to mitigate and adapt to climate change in the built environment.
Laura's passion for climate action and livable communities is at the core of her professional endeavors. Her experience spans community outreach, education, advocacy, project management, and development on projects in the field of green building design and maintenance, active transportation, energy and climate appropriate landscaping. She brings together various partners to drive improvements and creates exposure for green practices, demonstrating her commitment to a collaborative and holistic approach.
Born and raised in Cologne, Germany, Laura grew up on her bike. She holds a Master's degree in Political Science, Public Law, and Social Anthropology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany and a Certificate of Political Studies from Science Po Lille, France.
Laura's unique blend of experience, education, and global perspective equips her to drive meaningful change in the fields of sustainability and community development.
