The Hotel
The WSGS Fall Conference will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 10-11, 2025 at The Inn on Maritime Bay, Ascend Hotel Collection, Manitowoc, WI. Room rate- NQQ- 2 queen beds- Single and double $139. Extras $10. September 11 is the “received by” dates for forms and checks mailed in or if registering online. September 11- Early bird registrations for members and non-members to get discounted rate; Vendor registrations due; If you want to have lunch with the group on Saturday, you must order your luncheon meal by September 11; If you want a printed syllabus, you must order it by September 11. The hotel rate ends on September 11 (we suggest making it prior to that to insure a room).

Friday’s speaker- Mary Risseeuw- Mary is a genealogist, historian, writer and lecturer. She has researched 19th & 20th century Dutch immigration to Wisconsin, and throughout the U.S., for over 30 years. She has published and lectured throughout the U.S. and the Netherlands. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Association for the Advancement of Dutch American Studies.
Her presentations will be on “MI, IA and WI: Dutch Colonies in the mid-1800’s” and “Tragedy of the Phoenix: A Ship Disaster in Lake Michigan”.
Saturday’s speaker- Dr. Daniel Hubbard is a full-time professional genealogist, book designer and writer, he is the owner of Personal Past (www.thePersonalPast.com ) with research concentrating on North American and Northern European records. His presentations will include: “DNA, From A to B”, “Space-Time for Family Historians, Time warps and Curved Space aren’t just for Physicists”, “Developing a Sixth Census: finding more in “the Census” than meets the eye”, and “Where the Murderers Roam”.
