This course combines the information taught in both the Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD) courses (see course descriptions for more details). It must be attended in its entirety along with passing both WRT and ASD exams during that same five-day period. If any portion of the course and exam are not completed, the student is required to re-attend the entire five-day course to receive both certifications. No portion of the five-day course can be applied to either a WRT or ASD course being taught separately.

Learn how to facilitate appropriate decision-making within a restorative drying environment
Learn how to use instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment, and chemistry use in an actual flooded building situation

Using penetrating and non-penetrating meters

Review and use of inspection tools
Hands on experience (extraction, mitigation, equipment installation, monitoring and documentation)
Drying science (psychrometry, thirst, permeance, vapor diffusion and grain depression)
Microbiology
Pressurization
Dehumidification (refrigerant, desiccant, heat exchange systems)
Electrical (safety, cost to run equipment and managing heat in the structure)
Creating a balanced drying system with air flow and dehumidification
Air filtration devices (AFD)
Drying procedures for walls, flooring and cabinets
Understanding surface, free and bound water
Health issues
