In his first Scandinavian workshop, bestselling author and teacher Mark Matousek introduces you to his life-altering method of self-realization, Writing to Awaken, which has helped countless people around the world to reach their personal, professional, and spiritual goals.
During this evening program, Mark guides you through a series of soul-searching Writing to Awaken practices designed to increase insight, eliminate outdated stories, deepen emotional healing, and prompt lasting positive change in your life. Known for his penetrating questions and intuitive responses to students, Mark creates a gentle, supportive, and enjoyable atmosphere where students feel safe to explore their stories and challenge the myths the live by.
This evening will help you to:
- Tell the ‘untold story’ about your deep experience
- Release outdated and harmful narratives that block your growth hold
- Explore your psychological shadow and blind spots
- Reveal your authentic desires, fears, and longings
- Examine the masks and roles that define you
- Express your creativity and innovative ideas
- Reimagine the arc of your own future story
Our time will be divided between Mark’s lecture, timed guided writing practices, one-one-one work, and group conversation. Mark will be joined midway through the evening by Emelie Hill Dittmer, a therapeutic writing facilitator, author, and journalist, who specializes in trauma-sensitive writing. She will introduce the foundations of trauma-sensitive writing and guide participants through a gentle warm-up exercise from her book, Skriv for att laka (Write to Heal), to be released in spring, 2026 by Lassbo Waalan.
We look forward to welcoming you to this lively, transformational evening! Mark will provide you with personalized writing prompts to use in your private practice and answer your questions about the art of self-inquiry, memoir-writing, and the importance of penetrating the ‘narrative identity’ in order to touch on the truth of who you are.
