About this Event
Ever felt that you had more to say? Or maybe you have so many creative ideas bubbling inside. Or maybe you simply find writing cathartic. Or maybe you simply want to support your mental health.
Well welcome to writing for wellbeing!
“Writing is medicine. It is an appropriate antidote to injury. It is an appropriate companion for any difficult change.” - Julia Cameron
Getting out of our head and getting our ideas on to paper (or even computer) can help us to better connect with ourselves and our creativity. It can open us up to explore our ideas, our hopes and even our dreams. It can also support our mental health and bring us joy.
If this resonates with you, then come and join us for this fun, gentle and nurturing class where we have the opportunity to:
*Explore our ideas, creativity, thoughts and emotions
*Get playful as we get to know ourself more
*Express those words, thoughts and feelings that have been lurking around inside
*Release tension and relax
You don’t have to share or read out your work, but there will be the opportunity for those who want to.
To maintain the safety, integrity and simplicity of the group our numbers will remain small with no more than 8-10 participants.
*Please note that you don’t have to be an accomplished writer to attend. This is a non-academic course and much more about you enjoying yourself, tuning in and expressing yourself on the page.
One of our group said: 'Writing for Wellbeing' is a workshop where you take time for yourself in a safe space. Although I have shared my writing with the group, it is unnecessary to do so.
As a result of attending, I have formed new relationships, and bi-monthly, I get to have two hours for me and only me. As a result, I feel refreshed and uplifted'.
Felicia is a Nutritionist and Stress Management Trainer with a passion for writing and self-exploration and development. She is also the founder of Sophisticated Scribblers a peer supported writing group and writes for a number of health and wellbeing magazines.
