Join SAWCI and GTNT for a one-day playwrighting intensive at the beautiful Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Whether you are a new or experienced playwright, you are welcome to join this hands-on workshop to develop an idea into a script. Participants are encouraged to bring their draft or idea for a play to work on throughout the day. There will be opportunities for peer support, one-on-one feedback, and discussions of common pitfalls and challenges. Playwrights Ken Williams, Jennifer Dawn Bishop, and Danny Knight will be available for mentorship throughout the day and sharing about their own processes for writing for the stage. Hear from Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre about what they look for in a script submission and the Circle of Voices program. Participants are encouraged to bring laptops, tablets, notebooks, or other writing implements to work on their script.
