Our next composer meetup (graciously supported by the Screen Composers Guild of Canada) will have jazz trumpeter Cameron Milligan leading us through different approaches to writing for small jazz ensembles. April 5th: 2pm, Room 406 (2nd floor) Dalhousie Art Centre.
A lifelong student of the jazz tradition, Cameron Milligan combines the old with the modern in his fresh approach to improvisation and composition. A professional trumpeter since age 18, he currently freelances in Halifax in a variety of settings, ranging from commercial and orchestral music to contemporary jazz. Cameron has had the privilege of studying and working with some of the greatest jazz musicians in Canada. He currently holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance, as well as a master’s in performance and composition. Cameron works actively as a performer, arranger, and composer.
