Our bodies “tell” us lots of things, whether we listen or not. Think of a time in your life that your body humbled or surprised you. What would your body say if it could speak? In this workshop, we will take time to check in with our bodies and practice what it means to share stories of flesh and bone. We will brainstorm and discuss together the various ways and forms that our physical nature has a voice. We will study poems on this subject as a class and then there will be time and guidance for participants to draft their own poem. Near the end of the class, time will be given for those who’d like to read what they’ve written and practice performing a work of their own.
Tuition: $30, Materials: $8
Instructor: Frances James
