About this Event
P&T Knitwear is proud to welcome Kavita Das, author of Craft and Conscious: How to Write About Social Issues, to lead a writing workshop!
In this class for writers of all levels and backgrounds — from established writers to emerging writers, from social change agents to those most impacted by a social issue — the following questions are considered:
- How do we write compellingly yet responsibly about social issues?
- How do we write about the world as we’d like it to be without coming across as Pollyanna or propaganda?
Investigate these questions through readings and discussions about writing by a diverse array of writers who deftly engage social issues in their work. Craft and Conscience: How to Write About Social Issues grew out of Kavita’s experience teaching this class.
Housekeeping Notes:
- This is a ticketed in-store event with limited amphitheater-style seating.
- The workshop will begin at 4pm.
- Tickets cost $75, which includes a copy of Craft and Conscious.
- We encourage all guests to wear masks.
