Synopsis:
A Summer of Static is a cozy, sci-fi novella that takes place in Charlotte, NC in the year 2100. The book follows Purcell being woken up out of a simulation against their will and learning that they're not a human being like they thought. They're actually a robot. They spend the summer deciding whether to fight for recognition as a sentient being or return to a simulation to escape the real world.
Author Bio:
Wren Greyson is a North Carolina writer who lives in Charlotte with their cat Alfred. They studied creative writing at UNC Asheville and at Ulster University in Northern Ireland. They enjoy writing cozy, queer stories that celebrate the mundane aspects of everyday life.
