Celebrate the turning of the seasons artfully and sustainably! Join artist and farmer Victoria Bloedau of Floralia Candles for a hands on wreath building workshop using reclaimed materials and a curated selection of non native and invasive foliage. She will instruct on the botanical selection, harvesting, and construction of a beautiful, foraged wreath. All materials will be provided; bring your creativity and good cheer! This workshop is in two sessions. Session 1 runs from 1pm to 2:30pm. Session 2 runs from 2:30-4pm.
Victoria Bloedau is an Oakland based artist, farm manager and beekeeper who uses the fruits of her profession to create beautiful, ethical, long lasting candles. Each piece is made from responsibly sourced goat tallow and beeswax, hand poured in original molds. Borrowing from traditional techniques, all processing is done by hand in small batches. Tapers and pillars are hand dipped and uniquely bedecked in organically grown flowers. No synthetic dye or scent is ever used. With shapes inspired by folklore, her candles make an artful addition to home and ritual alike with old world ambiance.
