This National Day, join us at the Sustainable Singapore Gallery for Woven Together — SSG's flagship celebration of Singapore's 61st birthday told through the lens of sustainable fashion and multicultural heritage. Inspired by the ancient craft of weaving, the event invites every visitor — child or senior, Singaporean or resident — to add their own thread to a shared tapestry that tells the story of our nation's past, present, and future. Held at the scenic Marina Barrage, it's a meaningful, hands-on day out for families, students, and the eco-curious.
Key Highlights:
- In-Gallery Tour & Zone Activities: Take a guided walk through the Sustainable Singapore Gallery with our docents, then explore five interactive zones linking Singapore's cultural textile heritage to sustainability — from SDG matching to water-habit puzzles and a multicultural fabric quiz.
- Cultural Art Stations: Get hands-on at five art stations inspired by Singapore's textile traditions — weave songket-inspired patterns, stamp cultural bookmarks, craft upcycled fabric pouches, and create your own take-home artwork.
- The Unity Loom & Community Mural: Add your thread to a giant collaborative weaving wall and contribute to a community macramé mural — a living tapestry that grows throughout the day to represent Singapore's diversity.
- Sustainable Fashion Runway: Catch a live runway show spotlighting sustainable fashion and homegrown eco-conscious creativity.
- Fringe Games & Prizes: Take part in gamified fringe stations to collect stamps on your Woven Together passport. Collect stamps across our three NDP themes — Unity, Resilience, and Inclusivity — to redeem Tier 1 and Tier 2 gifts, including the limited-edition "Weaver's Pouch" and "Tapestry Kit."
