A WORSLEY VILLAGE WALKABOUT
A leisurely guided walk around Worsley Village by Elizabeth Charnley, our local Green Badge Guide for the Bridgewater Canal. She will show features around the Village which in the 18th century help to kickstart the Industrial Revolution in the Northwest by supplying cheap coal to Manchester. Once a vibrant industrial centre that was an inland port and the start of the Duke of Bridgewater’s canal and it is now a picturesque village.This is a free event limited to 20 people and is sponsored by Worsley Civic Trust.It starts from the front entrance of Worsley Courthouse on Barton Road, Worsley M28 2PB and will last approximately 2 hours. The walk will terminate at Worsley Library where there will be a complimentary non alcoholic drink available.
