Worm Composting Demonstration
Advertisement
Ever wondered what is involved in worm composting indoors, and under what circumstances it's more ecologically responsible than composting outside in a barrel or using a commercial compost service? What can worms eat, what do they dislike, and what might K*ll them off? How long can they go without tending, once established? What helps them thrive? Why should you NOT go outside and scoop up some worms from your garden with which to compost tomorrow?
Crystal will demonstrate two different wormeries they've been composting in since 2020 -- one of which drains, and the other doesn't. They will offer to give away free a couple of 5-gallon-bucket worm composting kits (current limit of 2 available), and explain how to make your own if desired. They'll share instructions and reminders for those who want to start composting with worms at home.
This presentation is part of Havurat Shalom's participation in Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW).
