About this Event
Join us at TMP to learn from Sydney Jinjoe about supporting soil and plant health through vermiculture! This workshop outlines the do's and don'ts of vermicomposting (worm composting). From "what do I feed my newfound worm companions, and how often" to "where should they be kept?" or "how do I convince my squeamish roommate to let me keep a bin," we cover all the vermicompost questions you may have wriggling around. Workshop participants will construct their own small, apartment-sized vermicompost bin to take home and start their decomposition journey! Learn about nutrient cycling, soil health, and species mutualism through this hands-on, down-to-earth workshop.
Workshop Activities:
Worm compost bin building and knowledge sharing about supporting garden health through vermiculture.
Other Learning Opportunities:
Ask TPM staff about ecological and climate-focused landscaping. Learn about designing gardens that support native plants, pollinators, and local wildlife - all while creating beauty and resilience in your green spaces and community.
Good to know:
This workshop will be held outside, if the weather permits, and inside the greenhouse if it rains.
There will be dirt and worms! Dress accordingly. Gloves will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own.
