About the Worldwide Candle Lighting
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting, held annually on the second Sunday of December, unites family and friends across the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon.
As candles are lit on December 14th, 2025 at 7:00 PM local time, hundreds of thousands of people pause in remembrance—creating a wave of light that encircles the globe.
