About this Event
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQD) is an annual event held on the last Saturday of April to promote the related tai chi and Qigong arts in nearly eighty countries since 1999.
The main goals of this day are:
- Educate the world about emerging medical research revealing the health benefits that tai chi and qigong offer.
- Educate people about the increasing use of these ancient traditional Chinese medicine modalities in business, healthcare, education, and penal and drug rehabilitation.
- Provide a global vision of cooperation for health & healing
- purposes across geopolitical boundaries and an appeal to people worldwide to embrace wisdom from worldwide cultures.
- Thank Chinese culture for the gifts of tai chi and qigong to the world.
At South Style Martial Arts, we will celebrate this date by welcoming anyone interested in learning more about the health benefits of these arts to experience a Tai Chi and Qigong class with Shifu Tony Bahia.
We will work on the main foundations of these arts through practical exercises and explore some ways to use Tai Chi in daily life.
The class is open to anyone at any level of training (beginners and first-timers are welcome).
Tai Chi can also be practiced as a sport. Shifu Tony is a master with over 20 years of experience teaching this art, an athlete, and a Pan-American champion for Canada (2023). At the end of the class, he will perform his Tai Chi Dao form for the attendants.
Join us this Saturday at 10 am to celebrate this day, learn, and help preserve these amazing ancient arts.
