World Table Tennis Day Celebrations 2027 – Stratford-upon-Avon
Following his appointment as the first official International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Table Tennis Day Promoter for 2027, Kevin Taylor is proud to announce that Stratford-upon-Avon will host an exciting four-day celebration of the global event from Friday 23 April to Monday 26 April 2027.
The programme will bring together competition, participation and community engagement, showcasing the power of table tennis to improve health, wellbeing and social inclusion. With activities designed for people of all ages and abilities, the celebrations promise to make Stratford-upon-Avon a focal point for World Table Tennis Day in the United Kingdom.
The programme will include:
* Friday 23 April – The celebrations begin with a special club session, welcoming players of all ages and abilities to join the festivities.
* Saturday 24 April – A landmark occasion as Stratford hosts the first dedicated Parkinson’s Table Tennis Competition, celebrating the positive impact table tennis can have on people living with Parkinson’s while recognising determination, inclusion and sporting achievement.
* Sunday 25 April – A full day of competitive table tennis featuring a Banded Tournament in the morning, followed by an Open Tournament in the afternoon, with a £200 prize fund up for grabs.
* Monday 26 April – The celebrations conclude with a second club session and community open evening, providing another opportunity for everyone to get involved.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can also enjoy an exciting Table Tennis Fun Zone, inspired by the hugely popular attraction at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Fun Zone will feature interactive games, challenges and activities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Adding to the excitement, Henley Street will once again host the Pongmasters Challenge, where members of the public can test their skills against outdoor table tennis specialist and World Table Tennis Day Promoter Kevin Taylor.
