🍶 What is World Sake Day NYC?

World Sake Day NYC returns for its 6th year, celebrating Japan's national beverage with New Yorkers and sake enthusiasts from around the world.

Founded in 2021at MIKA bushwic, World Sake Day NYC has grown into one of New York City's unique consumer-facing sake and cultural events, welcoming approximately 300–400 guests annually and featuring breweries, distributors, chefs, artists, and hospitality professionals from Japan and the United States.

Past events have been honored by the attendance and opening remarks of representatives from the Japanese Consulate and have featured collaborations with Michelin-starred restaurants, renowned chefs, hospitality professionals, and local artists.

This year, we are excited to introduce a new collaboration with Ambassador Wine, creating a direct pathway from tasting to purchasing. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase selected bottles featured at the event.

About WORLD SAKE DAY NYC

World Sake Day NYC was founded by Mika Furuya in 2021, with the first event held at her venue, MIKA Bar in Bushwick, in partnership with Shinobu Kato of Kato Sake Works. The first edition featured 12 sakes from four companies: Kato Sake Works, Gosakeman, Kubota, and Skurnik Wines, drawing over 300 attendees. Since then, the event has grown steadily in both size and impact.

Its mission is to celebrate and promote Japanese craft sake by connecting guests directly with brewers — sharing the culture, people, and passion that make sake unique.

All ticket sales are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your ticket.
