World Rhythms - Samba!

Taught by well-known professional percussionist and long-time teacher Art Reiner, this drum series for adults is a must do this summer! Art has directed performing ensembles playing world music for over 30 years.

This workshop consists of three 1-hour practice sessions with a short but festive performance on the third day for friends and family.

Participants will learn to perform Brazilian Samba rhythms on authentic percussion instruments and develop their understanding of basic percussion techniques, rhythms and physical coordination. They will learn about the cultural significance of Samba while having fun and participating in flow with a group. No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun.

Schedule:

Thursday - Practice 4:30pm-5:30pm

Friday - Practice 4:30pm-5:30pm

Saturday - Practice 4:30pm-5:30pm & Performance 6pm-7pm

Our performance on Saturday will be a fun way to invite friends, family and neighbors to check out what we've worked on and to experience the thrill and togetherness of live community drumming. Please invite your community to be there!
