Join us for the World Premiere of Downeast Hardcore: Stories from the Kave at the Maine International Film Festival.
For nearly twenty years, an old barn in Bucksport, Maine became one of New England's most unlikely and beloved hardcore music venues. Founded by Kathy Findlay, The Kave welcomed local, national, and international bands while providing a place where generations of young people found community, acceptance, and belonging.
Featuring dozens of interviews, never before seen archival footage, and music from bands that helped define the scene, Downeast Hardcore: Stories from the Kave tells the remarkable story of a venue that proved one person can make a lasting difference.
