World of Twist’s vinyl dance party returns to The Rum Shack in Southside on Saturday, 5th April, with special guest selector Santa Leticia, who will be making her Scottish club debut! Join us for a night of global groove heaters, shoulder shakers, and distant rhythms.
Rooted in the sun-kissed lands of Andalusia, southern Spain, Santa Leticia's sets showcase vibrant sounds from the Caribbean, Brazil, and across Latin America and Africa, all deeply infused with the essence of jazz, rare groove, funk, soul, boogie and disco, genres that form the core of her musical identity, moving both your feet and your soul. Having performed at many wonderful parties and festivals such as We Out Here, the London Jazz Festival, the Beirut Groove Collective, Kelburn Garden Party, and Knockengorroch Festival.
Her dynamic and genre spanning sets have earned her appearances on renowned platforms such as Worldwide FM, NTS Radio, and My Analog Journal - We can't wait to welcome her to our party!
Resident selectors Jamo Kidd and How Bizarre have their fresh bag of records at the ready to take you on a journey through their usual oddities, covers, curveballs, rare groove, and feel good sounds from across the globe. Expect everything from Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian grooves and psychedelia to Bollywood, African Highlife, Brazilian Tropicália, Colombian Cumbia, and Tropical Disco. Bringing you high-energy rhythms, both old and new, to shake off those winter blues!
