Join us for a full afternoon of celebrating and learning about our feathered friends! Oxley staff and volunteers will be joined by local bird enthusiasts, experts, and even a live bird ambassador (!) for activities and presentations for all ages. Here is the schedule:1:00 - 4:00 - For the youth and young at heart: Make a Bird Mask inside the Interpretive Center, then challenge yourself to get through the "Bird Hurdles" Obstacle Course down in the Fawn Grove Picnic Area.
2:00 - 4:00 - Presentations in the Interpretive Center's classroom will cover topics such as: Best Practices for Backyard Feeding, Gardening for the Birds, Avian Skeleton Anatomy, several local Community Science Initiatives, Lights Out, and more. The final presentation will be the story of the Bald Eagle in Oklahoma.
3:30 - 5:00 - Spotting scopes will be set up overlooking Lake Sherry for those who'd like to observe waterfowl.
6:00 - 8:00 - Guided Birding Walk on the North Woods trails. We will have a few pairs of binoculars to share, but if you have your own please bring them!
