WORLD LINDY HOP DAY - LIVE Music by Dutch Swing College Band!

On the 26th of May, we celebrate the joyest dances of all, Swing Dance (Lindy Hop is part of Swing)! And what better way to celebrate than with one of the oldest swing bands in the Netherlands, The Dutch Swing College Band!

Swing dance is a unifying community dance for all people from different backgrounds and it goes along with the rich and hard Afro-American history. 26th of May refers to the birthday of one of the biggest investors in this dance, Frankie Manning. Nowadays, this dance forms a universal language between dancers and folks really love to travel so that they can explore the dance in local communities.

A FREE small fried snack will be provided complimentary from the venue

You can take a seated place, however, there will be a lot of space to dance!

In 1945 the Dutch Swing College Band had their first performances around Europe and later over the world! They're one of the oldest swing jazz bands in the Netherlands and really know how to swing your socks off your feet! They were winners of:

They have won many prizes as the Jazz Competition Brussels 1946, the Edison Award, the Gouden Notekraker, the Dutch Export Award, the Bird Award special appreciation, and the Sgt Pepper’s Jazz Club Award.
