Silent March for International Peace DayDate: Saturday Sept 20, 2025

Location: Haywood County Courthouse 285 N Main Street, Waynesville
Route: Courthouse to Pigeon Street and return to courthouse
In honor of World Peace Day, you're invited to join a powerful Silent March centered on healing, unity, and compassion in a time when our world needs it most.
No speeches. No politics. Just people—neighbors—standing together for peace.
We’ll begin with a short poem co-read by spiritual and community leaders to set our intention.
Participants are asked to wear a white shirt, if possible. Bring simple white signs (approx.:1ft x 2ft, black lettering) with one-word messages: Peace, Compassion, Kindness, Unity, Love, Community, Caring (we will have a few extras)
At the event, share your voice in our Prayer/Intention/Wish Box.
Write an anonymous message of peace, hope, or community—these will be shared (anonymously) after the march on our event page, reminding us all that we dream together.
We'll close with a peace circle around the tree, sharing a song of unity.
This is a non-partisan, community-building event open to all.
