This year the service is prepared by the women of Nigeria on the theme ‘I will give you rest, come.Our service is at Kings Road URC Church and we are joined by the children of St Helen's RC Primary School. We begin at 10.30 a.m. and the service is followed by coffee and cake. All monies collected are distributed to various charities across the world.
The Day of Prayer is celebrated in over 120 countries. It begins in
Samoa and prayer in native languages travels throughout the
world — through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the
Americas before finishing in American Samoa some 38 hours later.
